I'm Sorry I Can't Be Perfect

Sammy sat on her bed, her older brother sitting across from her as she tried not to cry. "Y-You mean daddy did this to me?"

Leo nodded slowly. "I'm sorry Sammy."

"I just don't get it," said the younger brunette. "How could he do that?"

Leo opened his mouth to answer when he heard their father come home from work. Michael walked into the house tiredly.

Samantha got up to go out into the living room.

Michael gave a tired smile, "Hey Sammy Jay."

"Can we talk?" Sammy asked softly.

"Sure what about?" Maichael asked.

"You hit momma," said Sammy in a soft whisper. "Tell me it's not true, tell me you didn't make me this way....."

Michael froze and swallowed hard, he's past was catching up. "I did hit your momma Sammy and it is my fault."

"Y-You did this to me...." Sammy said, her voice shaking. "H-How could you?"

Michael did even know how to start trying to explain this to he plus he had no excuse for what he did.

"Do you realize what I've gone through because of you?" Samantha asked. "How many dreams I've had to give up?"

"I know i'm sorry." Michael said softly.

Samantha scoffed. "You think that fixes this?"

Michael didn't answer, he couldn't fix this. He'd hurt his family enough and he knew what he had to do. Michael turned and walked out the drink. He hated that he was now iching for a drink.

Melissa left the bedroom and went after him. "Baby?"

Michael just got into his car and started it.

"Mike don't," Melissa pleaded.

Michael looked and shook his head. "I'm sorry."

"Baby think about this," Melissa pleaded.

Michael swallowed hard as he pulled away from the house.

Melissa stood in the driveway and shook her head.

Leo sighed as his mother walked in before looking at Sammy.

Sammy went quietly to her room. "Leo, stay with your sister," said Melissa.
