Playing Favorites

Emmy stayed close.

Danny kissed the top of her head. "Its ok now Addy."

Emmy nodded. "Sleepy Bubby."

"Sleep Addy, we'll be home soon." Danny said.

Emmy nodded. "Kay..."

Danny smiled softly as he watched her fall asleep.
~A month later~
Danny went up to Emmy's room to check on her. He was babysitting for his mother.

Emmy was curled up under the blankets.

"Why are you under your blankets Addy?" Danny asked as he sat next to her,

"Cold," said Emmy softly.

Danny frowned slightly and touched her forehead. He was worried at the heat he found there. "Addy i'll be right back." He said as he got up and went for their mother's bag.

Emmy just curled up more.

Danny came back and grabbed the themomter and held it to Emmy's ear.

Emmy sat still while he did this.

Danny smiled at her, he looked at the thremomter as it beep. He sighed softly before asking. "What else is wrong Addy?" He didn't notice the door open a crack.

"Throat hurts," said Emmy.

Danny dug though the bag and found the light and sticks. "Ok Addy open and go ahh for me."

Emmy opened her mouth and managed an almost silent "Ahhh."

Danny frowned slightly at what he saw there.

Emmy coughed softly.

Danny quickly found some thoat spray medicine. "Addy open up please." He said as he held it to her mouth,

Emmy opened her mouth.

Danny smiled and sprayed the medicine into her mouth. He then noticed his mother and Jordan watching from the doorway.

Judy smiled. "Nice job honey."

"Thanks momma, how long have you guys been there?" Danny asked softly.

"Long enough," answered Jordan.
